FlexMedical ranked 4th in Alabama meaningful use attestations for 2011

Saturday, March 31, 2012

HUNTSVILLE, AL - FlexMedical announced today that its EHR product was ranked within the top five EHR programs used by physicians in Alabama during 2011 to report and attest for the CMS EHR incentive program.

Under this incentive program, eligible physicians are able to receive federal funding to the tune of up to $44,000 from Medicare and up to $63,750 through Medicaid. The incentive programs require the physicians to adopt and use a certified EHR product like FlexMedical for computerized documentation of their patient encounters, and in doing so, meeting and reporting on certain measures outlined in the program.

The Vice President of FlexMedical, Matt Price comments:

"We at FlexMedical are very excited over the news that our software came in fourth in terms of the number of physicians in Alabama that used an EHR to attest for the meaningful use incentives. Many of our physician clients considered a number of EHRs before deciding on FlexMedical. The fact that the physicians in the state had just over 2500 certified EHR products from which to choose, many of which are provided by companies that are larger than us, speaks volumes."

Nancy Neighbors, M.D., the owner of her solo practice in Huntsville, AL, has been a FlexMedical client for close to 3 years. When asked about her experience with FlexMedical and using it for MU attestation purposes, she replied:

"I decided to take my practice electronic back in early 2009 and chose FlexMedical to get me there. To date, I've been very pleased with what FlexMedical has brought to the table, and to be able to successfully complete my meaningful use EHR attestation and receive my incentive funds was icing on the cake."
