FlexMedical ready for next generation of Windows operating systems

Friday, October 26, 2012

HUNTSVILLE, AL - FlexMedical announced today that their flagship EHR and practice management solution is ready for Microsoft’s next generation Windows platform: Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.

“We’ve been working with the new versions of Windows since they were released in a customer preview to ensure FlexMedical was compatible day one with their official release,” said Ryan McGinty, founder, CEO, and lead developer.

This latest generation of Windows versions further expands FlexMedical’s broad support for OS and hardware. FlexMedical Client can now run on XP, Vista, Windows 7, and now Windows 8. FlexMedical Server supports Server 2003, 2008 and now 2012.

Ryan continued, “We know that not all offices can afford to upgrade their hardware all at one time, so we focus on making FlexMedical support the widest variety of platforms we can. That way a client can budget IT upgrades to happen over time and feel confident that their existing investment is sound. It is the best of both worlds – the product works on the latest and greatest, but also lets an office continue to get value from their older hardware.”

Windows 8 Pro has also ushered in a new line of tablet PCs which are a perfect form factor for FlexMedical in a point-of-care environment. “These new tablet PCs are great new options to run FlexMedical because they continue to push the boundaries of portability and battery life – two things well suited for use in healthcare,” said Ryan.
